TissuPath's Division of Cytogenetic Services provides a full range of cytogenetic tests, including full karyotyping as well as looking for specific abnormalities using in situ hybridization.

Our laboratory is fully accredited by the National Associate of Testing Authorities (NATA), the peak Australian accrediting body, and is certified by Medicare Australia as an Approved Pathology Authority (APA No.1038) and an Accredited Pathology Laboratory (APL).

Cytogenetic Services scientists are all highly trained, and all our senior cytogeneticists are qualified by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA)

Where cytogenetic abnormalities are sought in tumor tissue, as occurs in certain brain and breast cancers, TissuPath cytogeneticists work closely with TissuPath pathologists to ensure that the results reflect their combined expertise.
